The ways in which our Camembert Creme can be used are as varied as Bavarian tradition itself. But we all probably have one image in mind: enjoying a slice of bread with our spread during a long hike, leaving the daily grind behind. Historical facts about Camembert

It all began in 1905 when a village cheese dairy opened in Pfaffing, Bavaria. The Hain family were passionate about cheese, particularly Camembert. This dedication has been upheld and passed on through four generations. Over the last 116 years, Alpenhain has grown into an international company with 430 employees, distributing speciality cheeses from Bavaria around the globe. Our export list includes over 40 countries. Despite this success, our love of tradition remains intact. The milk used to make our cheese still comes from local farmers. Without our close connection to the region, it would not be possible to offer short transport routes and the highest quality. We process around 81 million litres of milk each year. Our motto, 'We make cheese, no compromises!', is our guiding principle and guarantees that our products are free from preservatives, colourings and flavour enhancers. We have avoided these substances completely for over ten years. We also regularly check that the ingredients supplied by our partners meet our high standards. 'Healthy', 'sustainable' and 'regional' are therefore adjectives that are important to us.
For us, producing and processing cheese is a labour of love. As a traditional dairy, we prepare our products using time-honoured techniques. Our cream's recipe is simple: we combine Camembert, butter, cream, cream cheese and a pinch of salt with passion and expertise. Ever since company founder Gottfried Hain produced the first Camembert, it has been winning over customers all over the world.
